Screen Producers Australia regularly negotiate the industry’s benchmark industrial agreements and commercial arrangements on behalf of our members.

* Authorised usage of standardised industrial agreements collectively negotiated with the representative bodies of performers, writers and crew.

* The most up-to-date industrial relations documents and news as well as updates on occupational health and safety and human resource management.

Events

Screen Producers Australia proudly presents SCREEN FOREVER, Australia’s leading screen conference for local and international content creators.

We host international networking opportunities for Members to develop business relationships and project partners through affiliation arrangements with Australian and international industry organisations. We currently have established partnerships with the International Federation of Producers Associations, Canadian Media Production Association, Producers Alliance for Cinema and Television, Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts and National Film & Sound Archive among others.

Throughout the year we also run a series of professional development opportunities. Members get exclusive access to:

What are your membership options?

Our membership is tailored to your role in the industry: producers, emerging producers, service providers and affiliates. Select the applicable category below for your membership details and then click the link to access the online application form.

This category is for established producers or production companies with at least one producer credit. Credits must have received a broadcast, theatrical or online release. Broadcast credits must be no less than 30 minutes, and theatrical credits must be no less than 50 minutes.

This category is for all those businesses that provide the services that directly contribute to the production of screen content. It includes lawyers, accountants, completion guarantors, insurance companies, film distributors, post production houses and studio facilities.

If you have embarked on your career as a producer but haven’t yet earned a enough producer credits to join as a full member, you can still join Screen Producers Australia as an Associate member. As an Associate you get access to our mentorship program and the benefits of our wide network of industry professionals.

Annual Fee is $250+GST

Our Partnerships program is designed specifically for businesses seeking to participate in the wider screen industry. The program provides exclusive opportunities to have meaningful year-round engagement with production companies and screen industry leaders.

Membership Obligations: Levies

Members contribute to our ongoing activities via a levy* on each of their productions irrespective of format or funding.

*The levy is calculated at 0.25% of the total production budget, excluding indirect costs. This amounts to $250 for every $100,000 in eligible expenditure. The maximum total levies payable in the 2017/18 financial year per member business is $75,000+GST. In the case of official co-productions, the levy is payable only on the Australian component of the budget. The levy is considered a Qualifying Australian Production Expenditure (QAPE) for the purpose of the Producer Offset. Levies are payable on the first day of principal photography.
